Overview

Tagu Cafe & Bar is a unique blend of a cozy daytime cafe and a vibrant nighttime bar, nestled on La Guardia Street in the bustling Lahug district of Cebu City. This intimate space appeals to those seeking a relaxed spot for casual dining by day and a lively, music-filled venue by night. Its location, tucked away and somewhat discreet—as its name “Tagu” suggests—adds an element of discovery, making the visit feel like finding a local secret.

The ambiance is one of Tagu’s strongest draws. The interior delivers a warm, inviting vibe with a modern yet unpretentious design. In the evenings, the place transforms as good music fills the air, creating an energetic atmosphere perfect for dancing, singing with friends, or simply enjoying well-crafted cocktails. The crowd here seems to favor barkadas and social groups looking to unwind and celebrate together, reflecting Tagu’s role as both a chill cafe and a lively bar.

On the menu, the focus stands out with highlighted drinks like the Amaretto Sour and various Vodka cocktails. While some guests find the cocktails delightful and well-made, others feel there’s room for refinement, especially regarding balance and originality. Still, the drink selection complements the bar’s casual yet spirited nightlife vibe.

When it comes to food, Tagu doesn’t disappoint. The kitchen serves a satisfying range of dishes that have earned positive remarks from diners. Standout items like tender pork dishes and one of the city’s best tiramisus bring a comforting and flavorful touch to the inviting setting. Although some reviews mention slower service during busy times, the attentive and friendly staff generally enhance the overall dining experience by creating a welcoming environment where conversations flow easily.

While the location can be tricky to find and may require transport due to nearby dim lighting, this minor inconvenience is outweighed by the rewarding experience inside. Tagu Cafe & Bar fits perfectly for those who appreciate a dual-purpose venue—daytime coffee indulgence evolving into nighttime revelry. Whether you're after a quiet afternoon break or an evening of drinks, music, and lively interaction in Cebu City, Tagu delivers a distinctive slice of local hospitality and urban rhythm.

This place is a cafe in the day and then a bar at night. We went there at night. The place is small. They have good music. I loved their cocktails.

Food is really good but service seems to be slow. I would definitely come back to this place and try all the dishes.

At first, we got lost searching for the cafe. It really is called “Tagu” for a reason. Better to go there by taxi or car because there are dark areas due to lack of street lights. But the ambiance and interior of the cafe&bar tho, it was really nice. The customer service was great! Some of the servers will engage in a conversation. We’ll definitely come back to party here!

The servers were very attentive to me during my dinner. The food was so good, i had the pork and the tiramisu. tiramisu was one of the best i’ve had! But i think they need to improve on their cocktails. the signature drink i had was a bit too sweet and nothing special. The atmosphere is so good. Not much happens here on a Sunday night but still enjoyed my time here

Ambiance and service are good, food like the pork belly and chicken are salty and the mixed berry n strawberry smoothies are too sweet.
